Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a highly motivated Real Estate Associate with 1 to 3 years of experience to join its Real Estate Investments and Transactions Department. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-value transactions across a broad spectrum of asset classes nationwide. The ideal candidate will be involved in acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, joint ventures, financing, lending, and distressed real estate matters, working closely with experienced partners and a collaborative legal team.

Location:

  • New York, NY

Duties:

  • Manage commercial real estate transactions from inception to closing in collaboration with senior attorneys

  • Draft, review, and negotiate key documents including:

    • Purchase and sale agreements

    • Leases

    • Joint venture agreements

    • Loan and financing documents

  • Conduct due diligence reviews and prepare related memoranda

  • Advise clients on legal risks and structuring related to real estate deals

  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, lenders, and third-party stakeholders

Requirements:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions at a reputable law firm

  • Strong background in handling various asset classes such as office, retail, industrial, life sciences, hospitality, mixed-use, and multifamily properties

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD), Class of 2021–2023, from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar

Skills:

  • Proficient in drafting and negotiating complex transaction documents

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with legal teams and clients

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality work
