This role involves managing various tasks, including making court appearances, drafting legal motions, preparing for trials or arbitrations, and communicating effectively with various stakeholders in litigation processes. The ideal candidate must be self-reliant with reliable personal transportation for timely court appearances, including those that require overnight travel. Duties:

  • Prepare and handle all aspects of court appearances, ensuring timeliness and adherence to all legal protocols.
  • Travel as needed for court appearances, including overnight stays in remote locations.
  • Review and organize coverage for court proceedings when not personally attending, including preparing all necessary documentation and instructions for alternate coverage.
  • Draft, review, and file legal motions and other necessary litigation documents.
  • Prepare for and participate in trials and arbitrations, which may require extensive travel and overnight stays.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, employers, and opposing counsel to resolve legal matters efficiently.
  • Ensure licensure is maintained in good standing in all relevant jurisdictions, with a focus on Missouri and Kansas.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar licenses in good standing in both Missouri and Kansas; additional licensing in IA, NE, ID, CA, WA, OR, AK, HI, and NV is beneficial.
  • Proven litigation experience, with a strong ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational skills and punctuality for all court-related appointments.
  • Ability to travel using personal transportation for various court obligations.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively negotiate and resolve cases.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) required.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Missouri and Kansas.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing abilities.
  • Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
