Duties

  • Represent clients in complex IP litigation cases, focusing on patent disputes.
  • Develop and implement litigation strategies, including motions, discovery, and trial preparation.
  • Manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met and cases progress smoothly.
  • Conduct legal research and draft detailed legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, and discovery requests.
  • Collaborate with partners, senior associates, and clients to build effective case strategies.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and mediations.
  • Assist in the development of junior associates and paralegals.
  • Stay updated on developments in IP law and technology, particularly patent law.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of experience in intellectual property or patent litigation.
  • Strong background in legal research and litigation strategy.
  • Technical undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience with PTAB disputes and/or CAFC clerkship (highly preferred).
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Top academic credentials and relevant legal coursework preferred.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Bar in the state of Colorado (or eligibility to waive in).

Skills

  • IP litigation expertise, particularly in patent law.
  • Strong legal writing and research abilities.
  • Technical proficiency in IP-related matters.
  • Ability to handle complex legal cases and high-volume work.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
