Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-to-senior level Labor & Employment Associate to join its team in Seattle, WA. The successful candidate will handle a diverse range of cases and matters for both regional and national clients, providing comprehensive legal support and guidance.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda.
  • Draft pleadings, dispositive and discovery motions.
  • Manage written discovery and take and defend depositions.
  • Counsel employers on hiring, discipline, accommodations, and compliance issues.
  • Draft and review employment-related documents.
  • Assist with workplace investigations and reporting.
  • Delegate and supervise work of junior associates and paralegals.
  • Support corporate transactions with employment due diligence.
  • Contribute to client trainings on various employment topics.

Requirements

  • JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • 3-5 years of labor and employment experience at a reputable firm.
  • Experience with employment litigation and counseling on employment laws.
  • Outstanding legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and collaborate across teams.
  • Strong client-service orientation and professional communication skills.
  • Admission to and good standing with the Washington State bar or eligibility to waive in.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Washington State Bar.
