Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney in Louisville, KY. This role involves handling general litigation work, including defending medical malpractice and employment-related claims, as well as managing commercial disputes. Duties

  • Draft and prepare legal briefs and pleadings.
  • Work with clients in preparing discovery responses.
  • Prepare and argue motions.
  • Conduct legal research and writing.
  • Participate in depositions.
  • Prepare trial materials and assist at pretrial, trial, and post-trial proceedings.
  • Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Independently manage cases.
  • Handle various aspects of litigation, such as motion hearings, mediations, and depositions.
  • Respond to administrative charges.
  • Collaborate with partners and associates to develop case strategies.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Civil litigation experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent drafting, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Outstanding academic record.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Kentucky; license to practice in Indiana preferred but not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Kentucky.
