Job Overview:
A client-focused law firm in Vancouver, Washington is seeking a compassionate and experienced Associate Attorney to support its growing Estate Planning and Elder Law practice. This role involves guiding clients through essential life decisions, creating customized legal plans, and contributing to a team committed to both legal excellence and positive outcomes for clients as they navigate aging and legacy planning. Location:

  • Vancouver, Washington

Duties:

Client Support:

  • Manage assigned estate planning and elder law cases under supervision of senior attorneys

  • Prepare and review legal documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related instruments

  • Provide clear, compassionate guidance to clients throughout the planning process

Case Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to ensure timely case progress

  • Assist with elder law-related matters and coordinate with senior attorneys on strategy

Legal Research and Drafting:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support client matters

  • Draft pleadings, memoranda, and internal legal documentation as needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on estate planning or elder law

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating within a team

  • High level of professionalism, including strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence

  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality legal work

  • Familiarity with estate tax planning is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Oregon or Washington (or both), in good standing

  • Willingness and ability to obtain additional licensure, if needed

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Strong research and legal analysis capabilities

  • Proficiency with legal technology, including document management and legal research tools

  • Ability to work compassionately with elderly and emotionally sensitive clients

  • Professional demeanor and polished presentation

  • Adaptability, critical thinking, and a proactive mindset
