The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of insurance coverage issues, including professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance policies. The role demands exceptional academic credentials and a proven ability in legal research and writing.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on complex insurance coverage issues related to professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance policies.
  • Analyze and interpret insurance policies and coverage disputes to provide strategic legal counsel.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, dispositive motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and prepare detailed memoranda on various legal issues.
  • Represent clients in litigation, managing all aspects of discovery, including motion practice, depositions, and court appearances.
  • Handle case management independently, from initial client consultations through trial or settlement.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies in collaboration with clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Stay informed about developments in insurance law, including changes in regulations and relevant case law.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation.
  • Extensive knowledge of insurance coverage issues under professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance policies.
  • Proven experience in drafting legal documents and performing detailed legal research.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex litigation cases and represent clients effectively in court.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California State Bar or eligibility to practice law in California.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent research and writing abilities, with a record of producing high-quality legal documents.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and independently handle litigation cases.
