Outstanding academic credentials and technical expertise in life sciences are required, along with a JD degree from an ABA accredited law school, admission to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and a State Bar.

 

Duties:

  • Prepare and prosecute life science-related patent applications.
  • Manage patent portfolios for clients.
  • Provide strategic analysis and counseling to clients.
  • Conduct opinion work on patentability, validity, and infringement.
  • Perform due diligence for transactions and technology transfer.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams on legal matters related to life sciences patents.

 

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and a State Bar.
  • 4-5 years of experience preparing and prosecuting life science-related patent applications.
  • Outstanding academic credentials.
  • Technical expertise in life sciences.
  • Knowledge of U.S. and foreign patent prosecution rules and regulations.
  • MS or Ph.D. in a life science desired.
  • Experience representing Life Sciences companies in structuring, negotiation, and drafting of license, collaboration, co-development, and other similar agreements desired.
  • Legal and/or technical experience in an in-house, research, government, or university setting desired.

 

Education:

  • JD degree from an ABA accredited law school.
  • MS or Ph.D. in a life science desired.

 

Certifications:

Admission to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and a State Bar.
