Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate in the Portland, Oregon Metropolitan Area. This full-time role offers a remote work model, requiring occasional onsite presence for court appearances, depositions, and inspections. The associate will play a crucial role in civil litigation defense, managing case aspects and client representation.

Duties

• Prepare and file motions, pleadings, and discovery.
• Represent clients in trials, arbitrations, depositions, and mediations.
• Update clients and their insurers regularly.
• Provide expert legal advice to clients.
• Manage day-to-day litigation tasks.
• Meet and maintain monthly billable requirements.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of civil litigation experience required.
• Proven track record of drafting and arguing motions.
• Ability to navigate the court system effectively.
• Experience in trial preparation and courtroom representation.
• Skilled in conducting depositions and witness examinations.
• Superior written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
• Active member of the Oregon State Bar.
• Experience in construction or casualty claims is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

• Active membership in the Oregon State Bar.
