Job Overview

A law firm seeks a litigation associate for their Portland, Oregon office. The ideal candidate will have three or more years of experience in handling defense litigation cases independently and interacting directly with clients.

Duties

  • Manage business litigation and construction law cases.
  • Handle data breach and security response matters.
  • Litigate hospitality and food-borne illness cases.
  • Address motor vehicle accident claims.
  • Manage premises and product liability cases.
  • Handle professional and real estate litigation.
  • Manage toxic tort and asbestos litigation.
  • Address transportation and trucking law cases.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of litigation experience.
  • Strong drafting, writing, and researching skills.
  • Excellent client relationship and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in deposition, motions practice, and trials preferred.
  • Oregon State Bar membership required; Washington State Bar membership is a plus.
  • School law or public entity defense experience is desired but not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Membership in the Oregon State Bar.
