Job Overview

A law firm seeks a dedicated Social Security Disability Attorney to join their team in New York, NY. This full-time, on-site position is ideal for candidates with a strong foundation in Social Security Disability law, eager to expand their practice to include Workers' Compensation matters.

Duties

  • Manage SSD cases from intake through hearing and decision.
  • Represent clients at administrative hearings before the Social Security Administration.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding SSD benefits.
  • Draft briefs, memoranda, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare case strategies, and negotiate settlements where applicable.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff on both SSD and WCB matters.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in New York State.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience handling SSD cases.
  • Interest in learning and eventually handling WCB hearings, depositions, and trials.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Commitment to client advocacy and high professional standards.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Admitted to the New York State Bar.
