Job Overview

A top-tier law firm is seeking a talented Associate to join its Antitrust & Competition Practice, with a focus on litigation and/or merger control. This role is best suited for candidates with 2+ years of experience and a strong foundation in antitrust law. The position offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment handling high-profile matters involving regulatory agencies and major corporate clients.

Location

  • Austin, TX

Duties

  • Represent clients in antitrust litigation, including government investigations and private actions.

  • Advise on merger control issues, including Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) filings and cross-border regulatory compliance.

  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, motions, briefs, and other filings.

  • Collaborate with multi-office teams on strategy and execution in complex matters.

  • Counsel clients on antitrust compliance and competition law developments.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in antitrust litigation and/or merger control.

  • Experience with federal antitrust statutes and enforcement agencies (DOJ, FTC).

  • Familiarity with multijurisdictional merger review processes.

  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and work collaboratively in a high-performance environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active member in good standing with the bar of the jurisdiction in which the position is based or where the candidate resides.

Skills

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

  • Deep understanding of antitrust and competition law principles.

  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills, both written and oral.

  • High attention to detail and ability to manage complex, fast-moving cases.
