Job Overview:
An established law firm is seeking an Immigration Partner to lead its employment-based immigration practice. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience handling complex corporate immigration matters and will bring an existing client portfolio. This leadership role involves advising multinational employers, managing legal teams, ensuring compliance, and actively driving business development. The position is open in several strategic office locations.

Location:

  • New York City, NY

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on employment-based immigration matters, including:

    • Nonimmigrant visa categories (E-1/E-2, H-1B, L-1, O-1)

    • Immigrant petitions (EB-1, EB-2, EB-3)

    • Adjustment of status and related filings

  • Advise corporate clients across various industries on immigration strategy and compliance

  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes in immigration law and advise clients accordingly

  • Collaborate across practice areas to deliver integrated legal solutions

  • Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and legal professionals within the immigration group

  • Lead client relationships and ensure responsive, high-quality legal service

  • Expand the practice through existing relationships and targeted business development initiatives

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business immigration law

  • Proven track record of managing a client portfolio and delivering client-focused legal services

  • Strong leadership experience, including mentoring and team development

  • Demonstrated ability to grow a practice through networking and relationship-building

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • Admission to the bar in New York or New Jersey preferred (based on office location)

Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of U.S. immigration laws and employment-based classifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • High-level client service, including ability to advise on complex corporate immigration needs

  • Strategic thinker with entrepreneurial mindset for growing legal practice

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple cases in a dynamic legal environment
