Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Labor and Employment Associate with at least 5 years of experience to join their Seattle, WA office. This senior-level position involves significant client interaction and collaboration with colleagues across various locations, including California. The role requires providing pragmatic legal advice and managing complex employment law matters.

Duties

  • Provide complex employment law advice and counsel.
  • Draft employment agreements and offer letters.
  • Review and draft employee handbooks.
  • Advise on employee performance management and terminations.
  • Manage ADA accommodation and leave questions.
  • Handle single-plaintiff cases and wage and hour class actions.
  • Collaborate on case strategy and tactics.
  • Conduct substantial brief writing and witness interviews.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Maintain workload and manage case dockets.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice in Washington, including Federal courts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong client service and teamwork abilities.
  • Commitment to diversity and personal practice development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in Washington State.
