Corporate Associate - Mergers & Acquisitions

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a Corporate Associate with 3-6 years of experience to join its Corporate Practice Group. Location:

• Fort Myers, FL

Duties:

• Lead and manage mergers & acquisitions transactions from start to finish.
• Provide strategic legal advice on mergers, acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, and corporate governance matters.
• Coordinate and oversee due diligence teams and manage specialists involved in transactions.
• Draft and review key transaction documents, including agreements, disclosures, and filings.
• Advise clients on corporate structure, governance issues, and regulatory compliance.
• Work closely with senior attorneys to handle complex corporate matters for public and private companies, private equity funds, and financial institutions.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through high-quality service and sound legal advice.
• Manage multiple assignments and deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Contribute to business development efforts by identifying opportunities and assisting with client pitches.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in corporate law, with a strong focus on mergers & acquisitions and general corporate matters.
• Experience managing due diligence teams, overseeing specialists, and drafting transaction documents.
• Demonstrated expertise in strategic transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, investments, and joint ventures.
• Familiarity with corporate governance issues and general corporate law matters.
• Excellent writing and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to provide practical legal advice and manage complex client relationships.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Strong academic performance and legal writing skills required.

Certifications:

• Active bar membership in a relevant jurisdiction (State bar membership must be in good standing).
• Additional certifications in corporate law or related areas may be advantageous but are not required.
