Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Senior Litigation Associate Attorney with 5–6 years of experience to join its Newport Beach office. This role is focused on complex commercial disputes and offers the opportunity to lead litigation strategy, work closely with clients, and collaborate with an elite litigation team. Location:

  • Newport Beach, California

Duties:

  • Handle all aspects of complex commercial litigation, including case strategy, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation

  • Draft and argue substantive motions, including dispositive and evidentiary motions

  • Manage electronic discovery and work closely with litigation support professionals

  • Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts

  • Conduct legal research and draft high-level memoranda, briefs, and correspondence

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys, clients, and litigation teams across offices

  • Oversee junior attorneys and paralegals as needed

Requirements:

  • 5–6 years of litigation experience, preferably in complex commercial matters

  • Substantial experience in motion drafting, depositions, and managing e-discovery

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Team-oriented mindset with a proactive and strategic approach

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Strong academic record required

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California Bar (required)

Skills:

  • Superior legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills

  • Proficiency with e-discovery tools and case management systems

  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate across practice groups and work effectively under pressure
