Civil Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks a motivated Associate Attorney to join its Westlake Village, CA office in a full-time capacity. This role offers hands-on training in civil litigation within a close-knit boutique environment, with opportunities to grow alongside a dedicated legal team.

Duties

• Support trial preparation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and exhibits

• Assist with court filings and appear alongside senior counsel at hearings

• Manage case calendars and task lists in the firm’s case management system

• Conduct legal research and organize case documents

• Coordinate discovery efforts and help prepare witnesses for depositions

• Meet critical deadlines and ensure all filings comply with procedural rules

Requirements

• Active membership in good standing of the California State Bar

• Familiarity with civil litigation procedures (training provided for entry-level candidates)

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Strong time-management abilities, with capacity to juggle multiple matters

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

• Self-starter who can handle assignments with minimal supervision

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications
