A law firm is seeking a Senior Regulatory Associate Attorney with a focus on the energy industry. The Senior Regulatory Associate Attorney will play a critical role in providing legal counsel and support to clients in the energy sector. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in regulatory, legislative, litigation, and transactional matters within the energy industry, particularly in electricity, utilities, and renewables. They will be responsible for representing energy companies and large industrial users in negotiations and power purchase agreements with utilities, as well as providing guidance on regulatory compliance at both state and federal levels.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and support to clients in the energy industry, with a focus on regulatory, legislative, litigation, and transactional matters.
  • Represent energy companies and large industrial users in negotiations and power purchase agreements with utilities.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on regulatory issues impacting the energy sector.
  • Draft legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and regulatory filings.
  • Advise clients on compliance with state and federal regulations governing utilities and renewables.

 

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an ABA accredited law school.
  • 7+ years of experience in the energy industry, with a focus on regulatory matters.
  • Extensive experience working with clients in the energy sector, supporting regulatory, legislative, litigation, and transactional matters.
  • Strong understanding of regulations governing utilities at both state and federal levels.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Experience in litigation, regulatory, and legislative matters for the energy and/or extractive industries.

 

Education:

J.D. from an ABA accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar of Wisconsin or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.
