A law firm in Wichita, KS is seeking a Lead Attorney to oversee the day-to-day operations and manage all phases of personal injury claims. The candidate will be responsible for managing a high-volume personal injury caseload, communicating with team members from multiple legal departments, meeting with regional management for office development and strategic planning, negotiating with insurance companies, and maintaining positive client relationships.

 

Duties:

  • Lead and manage all phases of personal injury claims, including research, pre-trial, trial, settlement, and appeal processes.
  • Manage a high-volume personal injury caseload through the pre-litigation claim process.
  • Communicate frequently with team members from multiple legal supporting departments.
  • Meet with Regional General Manager regularly for office development and strategic planning.
  • Interact and negotiate with insurance companies.
  • Communicate and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, settlement agreements, and other legal documents as required.
  • Ensure accuracy of all documents prepared.
  • Comply with all legal standards and regulations.

 

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of civil practice experience.
  • Must have an active Bar license in Kansas.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Active Bar license in Kansas.

 

Skills:

  • Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs - Excel, Word, etc. and tech-savvy.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal relations.
