Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated Associate Attorney to join its Personal Injury team in Birmingham, Alabama. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advocating for clients' rights and delivering outstanding legal services.

Duties

• Manage discovery, including propounding and responding to written discovery, taking and defending depositions, and analyzing complex documents.
• Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings and complex motions.
• Perform legal research.
• Make court appearances as necessary.
• Participate in case strategy discussions and contribute innovative ideas.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and team members.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on cases.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Alabama required.
• 2+ years of experience in litigation.
• Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office products.
• Proficiency with E-Discovery and law programs such as Sharefile, PACER, CaseAnywhere, Lexis, Smart Advocate, Everlaw, FileVine, and OneLegal.
• Detail-oriented and organized, team player, reliable, capable of multitasking and managing several time-critical projects under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in Alabama.
