Job Overview
A growing law firm is seeking a Senior Partner-level Litigation Attorney with experience in complex litigation. The ideal candidate will have a portable book of business with at least $200,000 in collections and a strong leadership acumen. This role involves handling high-level litigation cases from inception through trial and contributing to the firm’s continued success.

Duties

  • Manage complex litigation cases from inception through trial, including drafting discovery pleadings, motions, and arguing dispositive motions.
  • Handle all aspects of case management, including client intake, trial preparation, and case strategy formulation.
  • Serve as first or second chair during trials.
  • Advise clients on risk mitigation, pre-suit resolution options, and case strategy.
  • Conduct research, interview clients and witnesses, and oversee case-related details.
  • Supervise junior attorneys and staff on document review projects and manage the discovery process.
  • Participate in mediation, arbitration, and other alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Perform legal research using tools such as Westlaw and other legal research tools.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8+ years of litigation experience in state and federal courts.
  • Experience as first or second chair during trials is preferable.
  • Ability to handle litigation matters independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in drafting complex pleadings, motions, and managing discovery.
  • Proven ability to formulate case strategies and advise clients on legal options.
  • Familiarity with mediation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution methods.
  • Strong legal research skills, particularly with Westlaw and other legal research tools.
  • Ability to manage sensitive matters with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Must be licensed to practice and in good standing in Tennessee.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Tennessee and in good standing
