Duties

  • Prepare and file administrative government claims in compliance with the California Government Claims Act.
  • Handle personal injury cases involving public entities, such as city buses and government vehicles.
  • Manage case progression from claim filing through litigation and resolution.
  • Draft complaints, pleadings, discovery, and settlement demands.
  • Evaluate government liability and determine legal strategies.
  • Take and defend depositions, argue motions, and participate in mediations.
  • Collaborate with internal case managers, paralegals, and other legal team members.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in California.
  • 2+ years of experience in personal injury law, focusing on government claims.
  • Deep knowledge of the California Government Claims Act.
  • Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage deadlines and high caseload volume.
  • Familiarity with government immunities and claim denial procedures.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
