Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Junior Litigation Associate in Los Angeles, CA. The firm specializes in Plaintiff's Elder Abuse and Personal Injury cases and is committed to providing clients with exceptional service. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to making a difference for clients and contributing to the firm's success.

Duties

  • Communicate and manage relationships with clients and document interactions.
  • Engage with opposing counsel and participate in discovery and motion drafting.
  • Take and defend depositions and fully investigate cases.
  • Attend depositions, hearings, conferences, interviews, and trials.
  • Research applicable laws and interview witnesses and parties.
  • Meditate cases and prepare for trial, aiming to try at least three cases per year.
  • Advocate at trial and counsel clients post-settlement.
  • Lead weekly calendar meetings with assigned paralegal.
  • Submit quarterly fee reports to the owner.
  • Maintain professional standards towards the firm and clients.

Requirements

  • Active member of the State Bar of California in good standing.
  • Trial experience in personal injury field.
  • Ability to manage 50+ litigation cases effectively.
  • Strong legal research, communication, and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in case management systems and general computer skills.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Active California Bar License.

Skills

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Litify.
  • Strong focus on meeting individual and firm goals.
