Job Overview

A well-established law firm in Boston, MA, is seeking a full-time litigation associate with focused experience in medical malpractice matters. This hybrid position is ideal for attorneys with 3-5 years of relevant litigation experience who thrive in a collaborative, high-performance legal environment. The role offers autonomy in case handling, frequent courtroom exposure, and direct client engagement. Duties

  • Manage a full caseload from initial filings to resolution

  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery materials with precision and timeliness

  • Conduct legal research and prepare strategic memoranda

  • Attend and advocate at hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials

  • Collaborate with partners, associates, clients, and subject matter experts to develop litigation strategies

  • Prepare interim case updates and reports for clients

  • Take and defend depositions, including those of expert witnesses

  • Engage in pre-trial and trial preparation, including evidence review and witness coordination

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in medical malpractice litigation

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex case files independently

  • Experience handling discovery, dispositive motions, and expert witness depositions

  • Trial readiness and experience in both state and federal courts in Massachusetts

  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills

  • Able to work collaboratively in a hybrid team environment

  • Excellent attention to detail and case strategy development

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admission to the Massachusetts State Bar (active and in good standing)
