Job Overview:
A highly regarded law firm is seeking a Banking & Finance Associate with 2 to 6 years of experience to join its expanding practice. The role involves working with a diverse range of clients, including both borrowers and lenders, on complex domestic and cross-border financing transactions. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team working on private credit, syndicated loans, and growth capital financings across multiple industries.

Location:

  • Santa Monica, CA

Duties:

  • Represent lenders and borrowers in a variety of debt financing transactions

  • Handle private credit transactions, syndicated credit facilities, and growth capital financings

  • Draft, negotiate, and manage legal documents related to financing arrangements

  • Collaborate with attorneys across offices on domestic and international matters

  • Provide strategic legal guidance aligned with business and financial objectives

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and contribute to their success

  • Stay updated on market trends and regulatory changes relevant to the finance sector

Requirements:

  • 2 to 6 years of law firm experience in banking and finance matters

  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage financing transactions

  • Strong motivation and dedication to superior client service

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented legal environment

  • Must be admitted to the bar in at least one U.S. state

  • Must satisfy any additional practice requirements of the chosen office location

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active and good standing membership with a U.S. state bar

  • Eligibility to practice law in the jurisdiction of employment

Skills:

  • Proficiency in structuring, drafting, and negotiating financing agreements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Excellent communication and client-relations skills

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work collaboratively across teams

  • Familiarity with U.S. and international financing practices
