A law firm located in Lakewood, FL, is seeking an experienced Estate and Trust Attorney with a focus on estate planning, trust administration, probate, and tax filings. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in estate planning and tax filings, an LLM in Taxation, and proficiency in drafting basic estate plans and corporate planning documents.

 

Duties:

  • Draft basic estate plans, including wills, revocable trusts, advanced healthcare directives, and powers of attorney, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and client objectives.
  • Provide knowledge and expertise in corporate planning matters, including entity formation, governance, and succession planning.
  • Collaborate closely with support paralegals and senior attorneys to assist with trust administration, probate proceedings, and advanced estate planning strategies.
  • Handle tax filings related to estates, trusts, and other related matters, leveraging knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support estate planning strategies, tax planning, and compliance efforts.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to assess their needs, provide legal advice, and address any concerns or questions.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of legal documents, contracts, and agreements related to estate planning and corporate matters.
  • Stay updated on changes in estate planning laws, tax regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance and provide informed advice.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • LLM in Taxation from an accredited institution.
  • Admission to the state bar and in good standing with relevant bar association(s).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in estate planning and tax filings, preferably within a law firm setting.
  • Strong understanding of estate planning principles, trust administration, probate proceedings, and tax laws.
  • Excellent drafting skills, with the ability to prepare clear and comprehensive legal documents.
  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis, with the ability to interpret complex statutes and regulations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.

 

Education:
