Job Overview:
A dynamic and growing law firm based in Galveston, TX is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Associate Attorney with a strong litigation background. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex cases involving property damage, insurance recovery, and civil disputes. Ideal for a motivated legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can handle a diverse caseload across multiple jurisdictions.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in litigation related to property damage, weather-related insurance disputes, and select personal injury and business matters

  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses

  • Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and handle pre-trial preparation

  • Attend court hearings, mediations, and trials as needed

  • Independently manage a docket of active cases from inception through resolution

  • Collaborate with other team members to develop legal strategies and achieve optimal outcomes

  • Maintain accurate and organized case files using digital document management tools

  • Communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel

  • Travel periodically for depositions, hearings, and trial preparation

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law with a focus on litigation

  • Proficient in drafting complex legal documents and managing high-volume caseloads

  • Comfortable with frequent client communication and courtroom appearances

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines independently

  • Familiarity with handling insurance-related matters or claims adjustments is a plus

  • Flexibility for occasional travel within Texas and nationwide

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Texas

  • Good standing with the Texas State Bar

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and writing skills

  • Strong command of Dropbox, Excel, PowerPoint, ProDoc, PACER, and e-filing platforms

  • Being bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desirable

  • Experience with trial preparation and courtroom litigation is advantageous
