Transactional Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a highly experienced Transactional Attorney with substantial knowledge in commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in managing complex litigation cases within state and federal courts, particularly focusing on business disputes, bankruptcy, and corporate reorganization. Location: New York City, NY  

Duties:

• Manage and advance complex commercial litigation cases from inception to resolution.
• Draft and review legal documents including motions, pleadings, and complaints.
• Conduct and defend depositions; represent clients in court appearances, conferences, and oral arguments.
• Collaborate with a team to develop and implement effective litigation strategies.
• Engage in both in-court and out-of-court restructuring, bankruptcy proceedings, and corporate reorganizations.
• Provide legal counsel in business divorce cases and manage multifaceted disputes.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of substantial experience in commercial litigation.
• Experience in handling cases in both state and federal courts.
• Proficiency in New York State (CPLR) and Federal Court (FRCP) procedures.
• Ability to handle a diverse caseload with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal and client relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to complex legal issues.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
