Job Overview

A law firm seeks an admitted Real Estate and Landlord Tenant Attorney in New York City, New York. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, possesses professional communication skills, and has a strong desire to be in court daily to develop their legal expertise.

Duties

  • Answer calendar calls and argue motions with the goal of handling trials and inquests.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, opposition papers, memorandums of law, and appeals.
  • Assist attorneys in all aspects of trial preparation and discovery with the goal of handling trials.
  • Conduct heavy data entry, research, and preparation of legal documents.
  • Handle all phases of landlord/tenant and civil/supreme matters.
  • Assist with other projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Self-starter able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • No prior experience necessary, but a positive attitude and ability to learn are essential.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in New York State.

Skills

  • Strong professional communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
