Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Deportation Defense Attorney in Phoenix, Arizona, with the option for remote work. The role involves representing clients in immigration matters, focusing on removal defense, and managing a dedicated legal team. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of clients through exceptional legal representation.

Duties

  • Represent clients before EOIR and USCIS.
  • Handle complex asylum cases and other forms of relief.
  • Manage and lead a team of legal professionals.
  • Conduct thorough client interviews and develop case strategies.
  • Research and collaborate with country conditions experts.
  • Write appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Maintain meticulous case notes and documentation.
  • File detailed motions, briefs, and appeals.
  • Liaise with government agencies including ICE, DHS, and EOIR.
  • Provide exceptional client service throughout representation.

Requirements

  • Active law license in good standing.
  • Minimum 3 years of removal defense experience.
  • Completed at least 30 Individual Calendar Hearings (ICHs), with emphasis on asylum.
  • Strong courtroom presence and litigation skills.
  • Excellence in written and oral advocacy.
  • Proven track record of successful case outcomes.
  • Outstanding client service skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in documentation and research.
  • Experience writing successful appeals to the BIA.
  • Team management experience.
  • Spanish language proficiency is required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in any U.S. state.
