A law firm seeks an Associate Immigration Attorney in Phoenix, AZ. The successful candidate will manage their caseload, interact with clients, and collaborate with a team of attorneys and legal assistants.

Duties

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions.
  • Represent individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a workload of diverse immigration cases.
  • Conduct intake with detained individuals at centers.
  • Prepare immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review and adjust immigration application packets as necessary.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and community organizations on immigration law changes.
  • Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients.
  • Develop strategies and prepare clients for court/USCIS testimony.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Ability to manage a caseload and move legal cases forward.
  • Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR, detained, citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Experience with case management software is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in the state of Arizona.
