Job Overview:

A national civil litigation and insurance defense firm is seeking a skilled Insurance Defense Attorney with 7+ years of experience in construction defect and/or insurance defense. This position offers an opportunity to handle complex civil cases through trial, including depositions, oral arguments, and hearings. The successful candidate will be able to independently manage cases and assignments, ensuring minimal supervision is required. Location:

  • Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Duties:

  • Manage and litigate construction defect and insurance defense cases.

  • Take depositions, attend hearings, and provide oral arguments.

  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.

  • Report to clients regarding case progress and developments.

  • Handle appearances and assignments with minimal supervision.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal standards and regulations.

  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to manage caseload.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction defect and/or insurance defense litigation.

  • Proven ability to handle civil cases through trial, including depositions and hearings.

  • Ability to work independently and manage cases with minimal supervision.

  • Strong negotiation and settlement skills.

  • Excellent communication and client management skills.

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Florida; additional licensure in other states is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Florida Bar License (Required).

  • Additional state bar licenses are a plus.

Skills:

  • Litigation and trial experience in construction defect and/or insurance defense.

  • Proficiency in managing civil cases through trial.

  • Strong deposition, negotiation, and oral argument skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent client communication and reporting abilities.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
