Patent Agent/Technical Specialist

A law firm is seeking Patent Agents and Technical Specialists to enhance its growing intellectual property practice. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with a focus on innovation and client interaction.

Duties

• Prepare and prosecute patent applications.
• Draft writing samples demonstrating the ability to clearly describe complex inventions and provide strong legal support for patentability.
• Communicate proactively with clients to meet their needs and internal production targets.
• Stay updated on current patent law issues and develop strategies to address them.
• Collaborate with colleagues in a team-oriented atmosphere.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in patent application preparation and prosecution.
• USPTO registration number and good standing with the USPTO required.
• Strong understanding of patent law, particularly regarding subject matter eligibility.

Education

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science.

Certifications

• USPTO registration required.

Skills

• Ability to write persuasively and concisely in patent applications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter with proactive career management.
• Experience in computer software, machine learning, or wireless telecommunications is a plus.
