Job Overview:

A well-established and growing family law practice in Naperville, Illinois is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney to join its legal team. This role involves direct client interaction, courtroom representation, and strategic legal work in family law matters. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in family law and the ability to manage contested hearings and trials while maintaining a client-first approach.

Location:

  • Naperville, IL

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and strategy to clients on family law matters

  • Represent clients in court, including contested hearings and trials

  • Negotiate settlements and advocate for favorable outcomes

  • Draft petitions, motions, legal correspondence, and other family law documents

  • Conduct legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, rules, and court procedures

  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding case updates and inquiries

  • Ensure thorough case organization and compliance with procedural requirements

  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver consistent, high-quality legal service

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing law, preferably in family law

  • Prior experience with contested family law cases and trials strongly preferred

  • Ability to independently manage a caseload

  • High level of attention to detail, organization, and professionalism

  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Illinois

Skills:

  • Legal research and writing proficiency

  • Familiarity with legal databases (LexisNexis, Westlaw)
