Job Overview:
A nationally recognized AmLaw 200 law firm is seeking a Real Estate Attorney with 5–8 years of experience to join its high-performing Real Estate practice group. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a high-volume, deadline-oriented environment focusing primarily on commercial leasing matters. Candidates with retail leasing experience and strong organizational and independent work skills are encouraged to apply. This position offers flexible work options, including fully remote arrangements for qualified individuals.

Location:

  • Chicago, IL

Duties:

  • Draft, negotiate, and review commercial leases and related real estate documents

  • Advise clients on complex leasing transactions, with an emphasis on retail properties

  • Independently manage legal matters with minimal supervision

  • Collaborate with colleagues to meet deadlines in a high-volume legal practice

  • Provide timely and responsive communication to meet client needs

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with firm standards

Requirements:

  • 5–8 years of experience in real estate law, with significant leasing experience

  • Retail leasing experience preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines

  • Must be licensed in home jurisdiction or eligible for admission without examination

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active law license in candidate’s current jurisdiction

  • Additional admissions or eligibility in other states is a plus

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, drafting, and contract negotiation skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

  • Ability to manage complex caseloads in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong work ethic and commitment to professional development
