Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced employment attorney to join its internal legal team in New York, New York. Duties

  • Provide day-to-day legal advice on compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Advise on employment-related issues such as hiring, discipline, and performance management.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining employment policies and best practices.
  • Partner with the People Team to identify and mitigate employment-related risks.
  • Conduct and oversee internal workplace investigations.
  • Draft and respond to demand letters and agency inquiries.
  • Support training initiatives on employment law compliance.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel on litigation or specialized matters.
  • Contribute to research projects and document drafting.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in New York.
  • 3+ years of experience in management-side employment law.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations.
  • Ability to provide practical, business-focused legal advice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in New York.
