Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Legal Writing Attorney to support its litigation team on high-stakes personal injury matters, including catastrophic injury, wrongful death, child injury, and commercial vehicle accidents. This position is ideal for an experienced attorney with superior legal research and writing skills who prefers a flexible, remote work environment. This search is being conducted on behalf of the firm by a legal recruiting agency.

Location:

  • Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

  • Draft, review, and edit high-quality legal documents including motions, briefs, memoranda, and correspondence

  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis to support case development

  • Prepare written reports and legal opinions for internal use and client communication

  • Collaborate with litigation attorneys and paralegals to ensure document accuracy and case alignment

  • Monitor legal trends and developments relevant to personal injury and wrongful death practice areas

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of legal writing experience

  • Exceptional command of legal writing, grammar, and clarity

  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and tasks efficiently

  • Reliable and self-motivated with strong attention to detail

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to at least one U.S. state bar (active and in good standing)

Skills:

  • Expertise in legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Proficiency with legal practice management tools (e.g., Clio, MyCase, or similar)

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining responsiveness and collaboration
