Job Overview:
A respected law firm based in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a mid-level associate attorney with a focus on renewable energy project finance. The role involves advising on sophisticated financial transactions within the energy sector, particularly involving structured asset-based finance, non-recourse lending, and climate-related infrastructure investments. The successful candidate will contribute to a nationally recognized energy and climate practice and collaborate closely with senior attorneys and firm clients ranging from startups to global financial institutions.

Duties:

• Support complex financings, including debt and equity investments in renewable energy projects

• Draft and negotiate credit agreements, equity arrangements, and related project documentation

• Represent various stakeholders, including developers, lenders, and institutional investors

• Participate in structuring joint ventures, LLC financings, and tax equity transactions

• Collaborate with a cross-functional legal team on transactions from inception to closing

• Maintain direct communication with clients and manage day-to-day transactional work

• Conduct legal due diligence and provide strategic guidance on risk mitigation

Requirements:

• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in project finance or structured finance

• Demonstrated involvement in renewable energy or climate-related infrastructure deals

• Familiarity with asset-based lending and tax equity structures

• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced legal environment

• Adept at working collaboratively in team settings while taking initiative independently

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

• Strong academic performance and relevant coursework in finance or energy law preferred

Certifications:

• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California or eligible to waive in

Skills:

• Proficiency in drafting complex financial and corporate documents

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities

• Sound commercial judgment and legal reasoning

• Strong interpersonal skills for client interaction and internal teamwork

• Detail-oriented with solid organizational and time management skills
