A law firm in Asheville is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Attorney to primarily handle non-litigated insurance coverage work, including research, writing opinion letters, and advising insurers on claims handling and coverage issues. The ideal candidate will also have experience in litigation phases, such as motion practice, drafting declaratory judgment actions, discovery, and case management, along with representation in hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and trials. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are required, along with the ability to multitask and work independently or as part of a team. Law licensure is mandatory, with North and/or South Carolina privileges preferred.

 

Job Duties:

  • Conduct legal research on insurance coverage issues
  • Draft opinion letters and provide advice to insurers on claims handling
  • Handle phases of litigation including motion practice, discovery, and case management
  • Represent clients in hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and trials
  • Collaborate with team members on case strategy and management
  • Maintain client relationships and provide excellent customer service
  • Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations in insurance coverage

 

Requirements:

  • Law license required, with North and/or South Carolina privileges preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience in insurance coverage and litigation
  • Understanding of insurance policy interpretation
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and work independently or as part of a team

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
