Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Family Law Associate to join its Dispute Resolution team in Los Angeles. The role involves handling complex financial cases, often with international elements, and advising on family law matters, including child custody and marital agreements. The associate will work closely with in-house experts across various legal disciplines to provide comprehensive client support.

Duties

• Handle contentious and non-contentious family matters for diverse clients.
• Manage divorce cases, including financial disputes and property division.
• Prepare and review marital agreements such as prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.
• Represent clients in child custody matters, including paternity and visitation.
• Provide comprehensive advice on all areas of family law.
• Engage in business development activities to build and maintain client relationships.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in a law firm's family law group.
• California Bar membership in good standing.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Excellent drafting, writing, and research skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the California Bar.
