Duties

  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on issues involving creditors’ rights, foreclosure, bankruptcy, and real estate

  • Draft, review, and file legal documents for court proceedings, including pleadings and motions

  • Assist in the management and prosecution of foreclosure actions and bankruptcy filings

  • Represent clients in court proceedings and administrative hearings

  • Participate in debt collection actions and settlement negotiations

  • Communicate with clients, providing legal counsel and updates on case developments

  • Track court deadlines, maintain case files, and assist with case strategy under senior attorney supervision

  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes affecting relevant practice areas

Requirements

  • 0–3 years of legal experience in creditors' rights, real estate law, foreclosure, or bankruptcy (preferred but not required)

  • Demonstrated interest in financial and real estate legal practices

  • Ability to manage a dynamic workload with attention to deadlines and client service

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active member in good standing with the Maryland, Virginia, and/or District of Columbia Bar

  • Willingness to become barred in additional jurisdictions, if necessary
