Senior Commercial Real Estate Litigation Attorney

A law firm seeks a seasoned Litigation Attorney to join its New York, NY office on a hybrid schedule. This senior role will oversee complex commercial and real estate litigation matters, particularly commercial mortgage foreclosures and secured-creditor enforcement, while managing team workflows and client relationships.

Duties

• Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and notices of appeal

• Represent clients in state and federal court appearances, mediations, and hearings

• Conduct due diligence on note and mortgage purchase/sale transactions

• Supervise team members, delegate tasks, and manage overall practice workflow

• Negotiate resolutions and coordinate enforcement strategies with lenders and debtors

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial and real estate litigation

• Proven track record with mortgage foreclosure and secured-creditor enforcement matters

• Strong legal research, drafting, and negotiation abilities

• Demonstrated management or team-leader experience

• Highly organized, able to juggle multiple high-stakes matters independently

• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and court advocacy

• Admission to the New York Bar (New Jersey admission a plus)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; bankruptcy litigation experience is an asset

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
