A law firm in Columbus is seeking an Intellectual Property (Health) Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have experience in evaluating and managing patent, trademark, and copyright portfolios, performing IP due diligence for corporate transactions, and handling strategic commercial agreements. Strong academic credentials, excellent research and writing skills, and admission to practice law in Ohio and the USPTO are required.

 

Duties:

  • Evaluate and manage patent, trademark, and copyright portfolios.
  • Conduct IP due diligence for corporate transactions.
  • Handle strategic commercial agreements.
  • Engage in patent prosecution within the life sciences industry.
  • Assist with technology transactions including collaborations, licensing, outsourcing, and joint venture agreements.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in Ohio.
  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • 3+ years of experience in patent prosecution within the life sciences industry.
  • Familiarity with technology transactions such as collaborations, licensing, outsourcing, and joint venture agreements.

 

Education:

Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
