A law firm seeks a Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney for their Los Angeles, CA, office.

Job Overview:

The Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney will handle various aspects of civil and commercial litigation from case inception to trial. This includes preparing pleadings, conducting discovery, attending court hearings, and participating in trial preparation and proceedings.

Duties:

• Handling cases from preparing responsive pleadings to trial
• Propounding and responding to discovery
• Conducting depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, and experts
• Attending court hearings
• Preparing and arguing motions/oppositions
• Trial preparation

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in civil and commercial litigation
• Juris Doctorate degree
• Must be licensed in California
• Experience in both state and federal court proceedings
• Strong academic and employment credentials
• Proven track record of performance

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctorate degree
• Must be licensed to practice law in California

Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Word
• Legal research and technical writing skills, including proficiency with legal research tools
• Ability to handle complex litigation matters from inception to trial, including preparation of pleadings and briefs, managing discovery and depositions, and conducting legal research, analysis, and writing
• Excellent writing, research, negotiation, and communication skills
• Good interpersonal interaction skills
• Well-organized
