Job Overview

A law firm seeks a skilled attorney in Los Angeles, CA, to join their team and assist in managing the liens department. The role involves negotiating personal injury liens to ensure clients receive maximum compensation. Duties

  • Provide legal support for negotiating personal injury liens, including healthcare and attorneys' liens.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of lien-related issues and collaborate with the Chief Compliance Officer.
  • Communicate and negotiate with attorneys representing lienholders to resolve outstanding liens.
  • Stay informed of lien laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Assist in answering client questions on lien status and resolutions.
  • Draft correspondence and legal research memoranda related to lien matters.
  • Collaborate with litigation, settlement, accounting, and liens teams to support case resolution strategies.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar.
  • 2+ years of experience in personal injury or healthcare lien resolution.
  • Working knowledge of personal injury liens.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software.
  • Experience in a plaintiff's law firm is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical billing and insurance processes is preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar.
