A respected law firm based in Canton, Georgia is seeking a motivated and experienced Family Law Attorney to join its team. This full-time role offers the opportunity to independently manage a caseload involving divorce, custody, support, and other domestic matters across several North Georgia counties. Location

Duties

  • Represent clients in a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, and adoption

  • Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and parenting plans

  • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations

  • Appear in court for hearings, trials, and other proceedings

  • Communicate regularly with clients and opposing counsel

  • Manage case files and maintain accurate documentation

  • Work with minimal supervision while adhering to firm processes and standards

Requirements

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Georgia (required)

  • Previous legal experience required; family law experience preferred

  • Ability to manage a full caseload independently

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent legal writing and research ability

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with clients

  • Familiarity with family law court procedures and filings in Georgia

  • Self-motivated, efficient, and professional demeanor

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Georgia State Bar
