A law firm in La Quinta is seeking an Estate Planning Attorney to handle comprehensive estate planning matters. The ideal candidate will conduct initial consultations, strategize to fulfill client objectives, draft estate planning documents, and maintain consistent communication to nurture client relationships.

Duties:

  • Conduct initial consultations with clients to understand and evaluate their estate planning needs.
  • Identify strategies to fulfill client objectives, including recommending appropriate trust types.
  • Draft a variety of estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, and ancillary documents.
  • Explain complex legal concepts and all provisions of the estate plan to clients.
  • Work independently, meet deadlines, prioritize, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Consult regularly with clients, accountants, financial advisors, and other relevant parties to progress cases effectively.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with both existing and potential clients through consistent and timely communication.
  • Report on caseload during weekly case review meetings.
  • Develop a client following to contribute to the firm's revenue growth.

 

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Working knowledge of finance, investments, and taxes.
  • Strong computer skills with extensive experience in MS Office Suite, timekeeping, and case management software.
  • Experience with Wealth Counsel drafting is desired.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Licensed with the California State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in drafting various estate planning documents.
  • Strong understanding of finance, investments, and tax implications in estate planning.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex legal concepts to clients.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

 

Job Experience:

Preferred 3+ years of estate planning experience, handling matters from inception to conclusion.
