Associate Attorney needed for Hammond office

A law firm based in Hammond, IN, is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3+ years of relevant litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have defense litigation experience in insurance coverage and possess strong organizational, communication, and litigation skills.

Duties:

• Work in various practice areas, including construction, bodily injury, professional malpractice, and mass torts.
• Independently manage a litigation caseload, handling cases from inception to resolution.
• Attend court hearings in multiple counties and courthouses.
• Monitor case files to ensure deadlines are met and investigate legal matters.
• Conduct legal research, and analyze statutes, regulations, and court decisions.
• Assist with document review and preparation.
• Maintain good standing with the Indiana Bar; Illinois license preferred.
• Manage own caseload, handling all aspects of litigation.
• Provide writing samples and possess strong research and analytical abilities.
• Conduct depositions and possess strong litigation skills.

Requirements:

• Demonstrate strong organization and communication skills.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Indiana Bar; Illinois license preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant litigation experience.
• Defense litigation experience in insurance coverage is preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Excellent research and analytical abilities.
• Deposition experience is required.
• Strong litigation skills.
