Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Personal Injury Attorney in Las Vegas, NV. The ideal candidate will represent an existing client base, working closely with clients, administrative staff, and senior partners. This role requires handling a diverse caseload, demonstrating excellent research and writing skills, effective communication, and proficiency with modern technology.

Duties

  • Handle personal injury cases from initial intake through settlement.
  • Evaluate liability, damages, and insurance coverage to determine case value and strategy.
  • Oversee and guide case managers throughout the case lifecycle.
  • Review medical records and bills, and craft persuasive demand letters.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters and opposing parties.
  • Communicate consistently and compassionately with clients.
  • Maintain accurate case documentation and uphold firm standards.
  • Preside over paralegals and administrative assistants for time records and client projects.
  • Perform research, draft briefs, pleadings, and motions.
  • Manage administrative assistants, paralegals, and law clerks.
  • Prepare legal documents for clients, such as briefs, motions, and pleadings.
  • Identify client conflicts and determine case strategies.
  • Argue motions in court on behalf of clients.
  • Provide legal counsel by analyzing client needs and determining a proper course of action.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a law firm for a minimum of 1-2 years required.
  • Advanced computer skills with legal research programs (Westlaw and Lexis) required.
  • Strong decision-making, public speaking, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite is necessary.
  • Must be able to handle a heavy caseload with little supervision.
  • Must be a member of the local bar association - active member preferred.

Education

  • Successful completion of accredited law school with a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree.

Certifications

  • Membership in the local bar association.
