Real Estate Attorney

Job Overview:
A nationally respected law firm is seeking a Real Estate Attorney with 5–8 years of experience to join its real estate practice group. This role is ideal for attorneys with strong commercial leasing experience-especially in retail-and who are capable of working independently in a deadline-driven, high-volume environment. Location:

• New York City, NY

Duties:

• Draft, negotiate, and review complex commercial leases, with a focus on retail leasing

• Advise clients on leasing strategies and real estate transactions

• Independently manage a caseload within a high-volume practice area

• Ensure responsiveness to client and internal team needs

• Maintain high standards of accuracy and consistency in documentation

• Meet strict deadlines and manage shifting priorities

Requirements:

• 5–8 years of real estate legal experience, including extensive leasing work

• Retail leasing experience preferred

• Must be licensed to practice law in current home jurisdiction or eligible for admission without examination

• Ability to work autonomously without supervision

• Demonstrated commitment to legal practice excellence and client service

• Experience in a fast-paced, collaborative legal environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Active state bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction

• Eligibility for admission in other jurisdictions without examination is a plus

Skills:

• Strong legal drafting and contract negotiation skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

• Proven time management and multitasking capabilities

• Ability to work well under pressure in a deadline-driven environment
